A peaceful demonstration was held outside a cinema in Harrow earlier this evening in response to a film called ‘The Lady of Heaven’.
The film has been labelled as ‘blasphemous’ by some with over 100,000 people signing a petition to have it removed from all UK cinemas.
Similar demonstrations have been held across the country with one cinema chain cancelling all showings of the film.
A spokesperson from Cineworld said: “Due to recent incidents related to screenings of The Lady of Heaven, we have made the decision to cancel upcoming screenings of the film nationwide to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.”
Met Police told Harrow Online: “Officers were in attendance following a demonstration outside a cinema in St George’s Shopping Centre, Harrow on the evening of Tuesday, 7 June.
“The group later dispersed. There were no incidents of note and no arrests.”
