Police have arrested a man, 40, as part of an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of collecting information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 Terrorism Act (TACT), 2000, police have confirmed.
He was initially stopped on Wednesday, 7 June (under schedule 7, TACT 2000), after he arrived into the UK at Luton on a flight from Kosovo.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to a local Bedfordshire police station and has since been released on bail to a date in early July.
Police have also confirmed that the arrest is ‘Islamist-related.’
As part of the investigation, officers also carried out a search at a residential address in the Watford area.
