The Sunday roast is one of the most popular, traditional English meals there is, and in Harrow, we are fortunate to have lots of places that serve up top quality offering.
The classic dish first came to prominence in the 1400’s during the reign of King Henry VII due to the amount of meat consumed by Brits. The meals where served mainly on a Sunday due to bakers not baking bread, henceforth the Sunday roast was born.
Favourite items differ from person to person, but most consider roast chicken or beef, veg including carrots, broccoli, peas and green beans, Yorkshire puddings, roast or mash potatoes and gravy to be consistently popular.
