Pinner Wood School in Harrow has won a national times table competition beating over 355 other entrants across the country in an incredible achievement.
Pupils and teaching staff at the school said that they are “incredibly excited to announce that they came 1st place in London Rocks – a times tables competition run by the internationally renowned, award-winning app and learning platform, Times Tables Rock Stars.”
The competition, which was open to schools across the country, required children to correctly answer as many questions as possible and give their class and school the best chance of winning.
A whopping 25,549,430 questions were answered collectively by 64,630 pupils from more than 355 schools and 8,954 classes, and Pinner Wood finished first from the entire selection of entrants.
The top scoring class at the school was Sagano Year 4, who scored 278,202 and top pupil, Hamza Salad, 30,044 – congratulations are most certainly in order for this amazing accolade.
Mrs Depa Patel, class teacher and Maths lead, said: “I am incredibly proud of Sagano! There has been a keen focus on developing fluency and accuracy over the last year. The children have worked unbelievably hard all year, showed great resilience and the results speak for themselves.”
