Emergency services rushed to Preston Road this evening after a fire broke out in a building shortly before 6pm.
The road was shut off by police with emergency services on the scene tackling the fire. Local residents were advised to keep their windows and doors shut due to the amount of smoke.
Members of Harrow Online have sent images and footage of the fire that can be seen from central Harrow.
Met Police said: “Police were called at approximately 18:00hrs on Monday, 11 July to reports of a fire at a building in Preston Road, Harrow.
“No reports of any injuries.
“London Fire Brigade are on scene and dealing with the fire.
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

London Fire Brigade said in a statement: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a fire at a derelict pavilion on Preston Road in Harrow.
“Firefighters are tackling a fire at a derelict pavilion on grassland. There are no injuries reported at this stage.
“The Brigade’s Control Office has received 23 calls about the fire.
“There will be a considerable amount of smoke in the area, therefore local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
“The Brigade was called at 1748. Fire crews from Wembley, Stanmore, Northolt, Mill Hill and other surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

“The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”
London Fire Brigade confirmed that the fire is now under control.
