So far, Harrow has the highest uptake of the City Hall’s Solar Together London scheme.
Solar Together London is a group-buying programme that enables Harrow residents, and those in neighbouring boroughs, to install solar panels on their homes at an affordable price. The scheme supports the Mayor’s plans to make London a zero carbon city.
In response to the news, local London Assembly Member, Krupesh Hirani AM, said:
“I am delighted that Harrow residents are leading the way in taking up this scheme, launched by the Mayor to make solar power more affordable for Londoners.
“We know that solar PV installations do not just contribute to the capital’s efforts to reach net-zero, but they also can save households up to half on their electricity bills, amidst the cost of living crisis.
“I now want to see an update from the Government on when the next phase of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme will be passed in legislation.
“We have so far seen delays to this, but it will play an important role in helping more households obtain solar panel grants”.
