Things to do with children in Harrow this Summer

With the summer holidays looming, it can be difficult to find activities and things to do. The following suggestions are perfect for children and young people who find themselves bored in Harrow over the holidays.

Puttstars

The new indoor golf course has three different golf courses, games such as the shufl board, and a diner. Prices start from £4.80 for juniors and £5.80 for adults. This activity is perfect for those who want a quick game of golf or play the game indoors instead of outdoors.

Harrow Skatepark

Harrow Skatepark was one of the first to open back in 1978 and is perfect for both beginner and experienced skaters. It includes an old-school pool, a 5ft wooden mini ramp and much more.

Harrowall

The bouldering centre in Harrow is London’s largest. They offer introductory sessions for children and sessions for older children who want a greater challenge. This is perfect for those who want a more adventurous activity.

Bubble Tea

The latest social media trend is available in Harrow. Bubble tea is a Taiwanese drink made of milk, fruit, juice and tapioca pearls. The drink is perfect for a hot, summer day and can be found at ‘Mooboo Bubble Tea’ in St George’s Shopping Centre.

Summer Reading Challenge: Gadgeteers

From the 9th of July to the 11th of September, Harrow Libraries are having a Summer Reading Challenge for those aged 4 to 11. It will involve creating a free profile to track which books you read, writing reviews and unlocking awards. There are also activities provided relating to science and innovation as the Challenge is in partnership with the Science Museum Group. To join the Challenge, you will need to sign up at your local library and it is free to do so. Children who complete the Challenge will receive a certificate and be able to have a free swim at Harrow Leisure Centre. Children who complete the challenge will also have the chance to win a Family Ticket for the performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Green spaces

Finally, there are plenty of green spaces in Harrow that are perfect for family days out this summer including the Deer Park in Stanmore, Pinner Memorial Park, and Stanmore Country Park.
