Puttstars Harrow review: Minigolf and arcade offers something new for residents

Last weekend the Harrow Online team got to check out the new Puttstars centre in St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow.

The centre, which is host to three, nine-hole courses, opened its doors at St. George’s Shopping Centre earlier in the year and now that it’s had a chance to fully establish itself, we wanted to head down to see what all the fuss is about.

Puttstars, Harrow Town Centre.

Puttstars cost a whopping £2.4M and is also home to a dining area, a full bar, and a gaming arcade featuring air hockey, slot machines, basketball and more.

As you walk in, one of the first things you notice is how new and clean everything is, despite being a few months old now, everything still seems very new and that is testament to the staff who have done a great job keeping all of the machinery and equipment fresh and new for customers to enjoy.

The Arcade

For older Harrow residents, this arcade will bring back memories of the Edge in Harrow back in the 1990s. There truly is something for everyone here as we get a good mix of the latest arcade machines including Mario Kart, Nerf Arcade, Super Bikes 3, Pac-Man and much more.

There’s also air-hockey and pool tables to keep the older kids busy, again, these machines are of the highest quality, brand new and nothing like the machines you’ll find on holiday in the local arcades – they look and feel expensive.

The arcade is also home to the more interactive, physical games machines such as the basketball and bowling.

The Food

As well as 3 mini golf courses and arcade area, Puttstars Harrow also has a diner and bar. You’ll find a range of menu items and food from nacho sharers and hot dogs to yummy 12.5″ pizzas. There’s also a kids menu which has perfect options for birthday party packages.

You can take a seat at the bar and have a drink while the children are enjoying one of the courses, a great way to unwind after a long week at work, plus the centre is open until 11pm on weekdays and 12am on weekends, meaning you can go down there for a boys or girls night out too!.

The Minigolf

Minigolf can be great fun for children and adults alike and really is suitable for all levels of ability. One of the best things about Puttstars vs other minigolf, is that you get a computer screen on each hole that participants can enter their scores into and keep track of who’s winning – no more arguments about who’s holding the pencil as you’re walking around the course!.

There’s three separate courses at Puttstars Harrow, each one featuring quirky and, at times, quite challenging holes to keep users engaged. The game can be tricky! but you do find yourself getting better as you move round.

What separates Puttstars from other courses however, is the amount of detail that has gone into making this special. Each hole has its own ‘theme’ with one looking like a skating track, Puttstars have commissioned a graffiti artist to come in and spray the track to give it an authentic look – it’s the little things like that, that makes it an even better and more memorable experience.

Overall, we would highly recommend Harrow residents come and give it a try, if you’re in St George’s, or Harrow Town Centre – just pop in for a game of pool or a quick bite to eat – we are truly luck to have this place in the borough.

Puttstars is located at St Georges Shopping Centre, Harrow, Town Centre, HA1 1AS. Prices start at £4.80 for juniors, £5.80 for adults and £21.15 for families.
