Police warn about ‘elderly motorists’ being scammed in Pinner

Police have issued a warning to residents in Harrow after elderly motorists have been targeted by scammers.

Motorists are being tricked into paying to park using their bank card using their pin number at parking machines (that do not accept the cards) before the bank cards are stolen.

Pinner South SNT tweeted: “Scammers are operating in #Pinner. They convince elderly motorists that they must use a bank card at a @harrow_council parking machine to pay for parking or a fine. After the PIN is seen being entered, the bank card is stolen. These parking machines DON’T accept card payments.”
