Man dies after being struck by a vehicle in Harrow

Police have appealed to the public for any witnesses to come forward following a fatal collision in Harrow in the early hours of this morning.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 01:00hrs.

Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “While there were no reports of a road traffic collision in the area, the injuries sustained in this incident are consistent with a collision having taken place.

“We are keeping an open mind as to whether this man has been struck by a motorist who did not realise, or whether the motorist has knowingly left the scene.

“I would appeal to anyone who walked or drove along this stretch of road late last night, particularly around midnight, to reflect on their journey, to check any dash cam footage and to come forward if they have any information that could help us.

“This man’s family have suffered a terrible loss and we want to do all we can to find out what happened.”

Anyone with information can call 020 8246 9820 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
