Sainsbury’s in Stanmore was forced to close today after a police incident at around 2:20pm.
Police have confirmed that three people have been arrested. Shop staff at Sainsbury’s detained ‘a number of suspected shoplifters’.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “Police were called to our Stanmore Superstore this afternoon. The store is currently closed and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

A Met Police spokesperson told Harrow Online: “Police were called at 14:22hrs to a supermarket in The Broadway, Stanmore after shop staff detained a number of suspected shoplifters.
“Two males were arrested; one on suspicion of theft and the other on suspicion of theft, ABH and failing to appear in court.
“A female was arrested on suspicion of theft. All remain in custody. No reports of any serious injuries.”
