New restaurant set to open in Long Elmes, Harrow Weald

A new Indian restaurant is set to open at the parade of shops at the bottom of Long Elmes, Harrow Weald.

Local residents are excited to see the new restaurant once it opens, rumoured to be later this year and before Christmas.

The location has been vacant for nearly four years after a fire destroyed the previous eatery, Turban Street, back in December 2018.

At 2.42am on December 13, 2018, London Fire Brigade spent nearly 3 hours tacking the blaze in Harrow Weald with around 40 firefighters. Both the restaurant, and the flat above, were completely obliterated and the premises has remained boarded up until this month.

The fire at Turban Street, back in December 2018.

Local resident Neera Patel told Harrow Online: “I’m hearing that this will be a new Indian restaurant, it used to be many years ago until the fire or even beforehand, and before it was Turban Street it was a nice family place.

“I hope it last longer that the last one as it was nice, but being boarded up makes the area look run down so it’ll be a welcome addition.”

The news comes after we recently revealed that a new vegetarian Indian restaurant is opening soon in Harrow Town Centre.

No further details about the new restaurant  in Long Elmes are available at the moment, but as soon as we get an update we will post via our socials.
