Harrow Skatepark has been forced to close today after a fire was reported at one of the ramps in the early hours of this morning.
The ramp has been extensively damaged by fire and the entire skatepark has been closed off for safety.
One member of Harrow Online said: “I’m so sad this has happened. So many people use the skatepark every day of the year.
“It will cost a lot to repair, will have to be closed off for health and safety and it is a huge loss to people of all ages who use the park. Everyone is devastated as the skatepark guys were hoping to get the ramp refurbished by the council but it needs a complete rebuild now.”
London Fire Brigade were called to the blaze in Christchurch Avenue, Harrow at 5:10am this morning with two fire engines attending.
The Brigade confirmed that the fire was under control by 6:50am with the wood and concrete ramp extensively damaged.
The Brigade confirmed that Met Police also attended and the cause of the fire at Harrow Skate Park will be under investigation.
