Fire Brigade rush to Harrow Skate Park after reports of SECOND fire

A second fire had been reported in the space of two weeks at Harrow Skate Park, Byron Recreation Ground.

Images and footage sent to Harrow Online show the ramp on fire again on Friday afternoon (7 October) shortly before 4pm.

One person said: “I have been coming to this skate park since the 1980s and feel heartbroken that it’s been destroyed like this. It is part of the community and keeps kids off the streets and allows them to come somewhere and skate safely. I come here and personal fix up the ramp, keep the wood safe for the kids to use so that nobody gets hurt. This has now been taken away.”

London Fire Brigade told Harrow Online: “We were called to a small outdoor fire at Byron Recreation Ground, Peel Road, Wealdstone at 1537 on October 7. One fire engine from Stanmore Fire Station attended. The fire was under control by 1556.”

The previous fire happened on 25 September and left the ramp destroyed. We have approached Met Police to find out more information.
