Police recover large knife from stolen moped rider in Rayners Lane

A large knife has been recovered by local police officers whist patrolling Rayners Lane, Harrow.

The incident happened yesterday (17 October) and has been reported via the OWL website covering the South Harrow and Rayners Lane areas.

Posting via OWL, local SNT officers said: “On 17th October PC’s Brooks, Reilly, Rose and Clark were patrolling on the Rayners Lane Estate due to recent gang tensions. They saw a moped driving at speed coming around a corner towards them.

“On seeing the Police van the rider and passenger threw the bike to the ground and ran off. Police gave chase to the rider catching him a few moments later on Rayners Lane.

“He was detained and placed in Handcuffs. With the help from Police Dog Indie the route was retraced and the enclosed knife was found which had been discarded by the rider.

“He was arrested at the scene for possession of an offensive weapon, robbery (as the moped had been stolen the day before) no Insurance and other driving related offences.

“We will continue our patrols in the area.”
