Harrow Road was cordoned off by police this morning (30 October) following a fatal stabbing in the early hours.
A police cordon is in place in Sudbury and Harrow Road was closed in both directions due to the incident.
Met Police said in a statement: “Police were called to Harrow Road, Wembley, at 01.50hrs on Sunday, 30 October to reports of a stabbing.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).
“A 21-year-old man was found with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died a short time later.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“Two men were arrested at the scene in connection with the incident. They have been taken into custody.
“Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have been informed and are leading the investigation.
“A crime scene has been put in place.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.49am today (30 October) to reports of a stabbing on the junction of Harrow Road and Elton Avenue, Wembley.
“We sent two ambulance crews, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person died at the scene.”
Bus routes on Harrow Road affected include the 18, 92, 182, 245 and N18.
One person arrested by police earlier today has since been released.
