New ward at Northwick Park Hospital opened by Mayor of Harrow

The Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Janet Mote has officially opened a new paediatric short-stay hospital ward at Northwick Park.

The new ‘Rainbow Ward’ provides a space for daycare appointments and 24-hour observation for children staying at the hospital. It’s hoped that the new ward will help ease pressure on the A&E Department and Jack’s Place, the current hospital ward for children.

Rainbow ward also includes the paediatric oncology team which treats children with cancer.

GPs will now be able to make direct referrals to the Northwick Park Hospital ward from the community further easing pressure on emergency services. The Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Janet Mote opened the ward with the help of school pupil Dhyani Gajiparia who helped name the ward during a competition.
