Two men allegedly assaulted outside Vicarage Road stadium in Watford

Two men were allegedly assaulted outside Vicarage Road stadium after a football match last weekend.

Herts Police said in a statement: “It was reported that two men were assaulted outside Vicarage Road football stadium after the Watford FC v Coventry City match on Saturday (5 November).

“Between around 5.05pm and 5.15pm, two men were allegedly assaulted by another man close to Wenzels. It was reported that one man was spat at (crime reference 41/89996/22) whilst the other was kicked and punched (crime reference 41/89994/22).”

“A 22 year old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of ABH and common assault. He has been released on bail, with conditions, until 28 January 2023.”

Investigator Daryl Allwood said: “We believe that somebody videoed the incident on a mobile phone and that footage could be very useful to our investigation.
