A brand new Turkish restaurant serving authentic dishes in a sleek, contemporary setting was opened in Harrow today.
Melissa, based in Station Road, Harrow Town Centre at the old O’Neill’s building, serves authentic Turkish food and will no doubt be a welcome addition to shoppers who are already spoilt for choice with eateries in central Harrow.
The Harrow Online team had a chance to go inside the new venue which boasts a lavish interior equipped with elegant lighting and a full bar to compliment its traditional food.
The Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Janet Mote opened the restaurant this morning along with local MP Gareth Thomas and the management team.
At the opening, The Mayor said: “I am delighted to be here today and it’s wonderful to see a new business in Harrow.”
She added, “I am hoping that this restaurant is going to go from strength to strength and be filled with lots of amazing customers.”
Commenting on the challenges faced in the hospitality industry at the moment, The Mayor added: “Particularly in this day and age, to have a new business opening up, I think it only goes to show how well Harrow is doing, and we’re going to have enjoy having lots of people and increase the footfall in Harrow.”
Gareth Thomas, Labour MP for Harrow West said: “Just to say, I hope that you’re going to be very busy.”

Speaking to the owner, Mr Thomas Said: “We know it’s going to be a success. You’re going to be great, thanks for opening up and good luck.”
The Melissa menu contains all the favourite traditional Turkish dishes such as kebabs, falafel, mixed shish and lamb chops, also a range of fish such as salmon and sea bass. There’s also a kids menu selling nuggets and burgers amongst other items.
