The Whittington pub, formerly known as the Pinner Arms, has today reopened as a Flaming Grill following a huge investment, rumoured to be around seven figures, which has totally transformed the pub with a brand new sport and food offering.

The pub has also reverted to its original name from the 1930s the Whittington and to celebrate, the team invited Paul Dupree, a pub regular of 40 years, to the opening night. Paul provided an original photo of family friend Alfred Dann, who played as a drummer in the pub’s resident band in the 1930s, which has now been framed and showcased in the Whittington.

A first look inside!

As a newly opened Flaming Grill, the Whittington will offer the brand’s famous flame-grilled food and sizzling skillets, which includes its flamin’ festive feast seasonal menu, offering a range of sharers including the Advent Pig Roulette, which features 24 pigs in blankets tossed in four delicious sauces and Rudolph’s Christmas club sandwich.

New zones have been created throughout the pub including a sports zone complete with TV screens, pool tables and a dart board, making it the best place to catch all the live sporting action. Other areas include a dining area for family and friends to enjoy fresh from the flame steaks, mouth-watering burgers and a comforting Sunday Roast.

Who doesn’t like a game of darts?

Holly Slater, General Manager of the Whittington in Pinner said: We’re so excited to finally reopen and give a big warm welcome back to our regulars as we show them the amazing changes that have happened over the past six weeks. We know our new sports areas are going to be popular, and thanks to the new covered and heated seating, fans will be able to enjoy matches in all weather.

“We’re also delighted to be reopening as The Whittington. Locals still call it by its original name and to mark this we have renamed the Sports Bar “The Whitt”, which we think is the perfect way to thank all our regulars who have supported us over the years.”

The investment into the Whittington, located on Whittington Way, has resulted in a significant boost to local recruitment. As part of the investment, the Whittington’s team has increased from 10 to 30 members of staff, with new hires covering a range of front-of-house and back-of-house roles.

The pub’s outdoors has been transformed and sports fans will be able to enjoy a heated and covered outdoor space linked to the new sports zone, complete with two large TV screens showing a range of sport. As well as BT, Sky and Amazon Prime sports, the site regularly runs pay-per-view boxing and other events.

A stylish new look with outside seating.

At the front of the pub, a new dining area has been created, complete with new furniture and heated and covered seating. Overall, the expansion of the outdoor area has resulted in a big increase in capacity for the pub, with The Whittington now offering over 180 covers externally.

As well as structural changes, the bar and dining areas of the popular Harrow pub have also been completely redecorated, gaining a fresh new feel with new furniture throughout but without losing its welcoming atmosphere.
