One of the largest providers of astroturf football has expanded its portfolio to include 17 new football pitches in Edgware.
Yesterday (12 December), Powerleague The Hive, previously The Hive Football Centre, opened and will be open 7 days a week from 9am-10.30pm, it has been announced.
With eight 7-a-side and nine 5-a-side pitches, players can take advantage of the state-of-the-art pitches with shock pad synthetic rubber, and the latest LED floodlight technology to ensure the best quality of games all year round.
The pitches will be run in partnership with The Hive London, which opened in 2009. The Hive London is an International Football Training Venue used by the likes of the England national teams, it has been described as a ‘centre of excellence’ and one of the best in the country.
In addition to the football pitches, the venue offers a stadium that is the proud home of Barnet FC, conference facilities, a scanning and diagnostics medical facility by TIC Health, 13 hireable event spaces, a gym, a Starbucks and onsite parking.
The new Powerleague club, based in Edgware, offers a space for football fans to come together as a community and benefit from the range of mental and physical advantages that come from playing football.

The opening of Powerleague The Hive brings the total number of Powerleague clubs in the UK to 41, with much more planned in 2023.
