Two people taken to hospital after Harrow Weald collision

High Street, Harrow Weald is currently closed northbound at the junction with Long Elmes due to a nasty collision.

A van is currently on its side after being involved in the incident. London Fire Brigade, Met Police and London Ambulance Service are all at the scene. Two people have been taken to hospital after being treated on site.

The following bus routes are affected: 140, 182, 258, 340, 640 and the H12.

High Street, Harrow Weald has been closed since the collision at around 8:15am this morning (19 December).

Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called at 08:16hrs on Monday, 19 December to reports of a road traffic collision in High Road, near the junction with Long Elmes, Harrow.

“Officers, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade attended and found a car and a van in collision.

“Injuries have been assessed as not being life-threatening or life-changing.

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. He will be taken to a north London police station.

“Enquiries continue.”.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on High Road in Harrow.

“Crews made the scene safe after two vehicles were in collision. Two people were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

“The Brigade was called at 0822 and the incident was over for firefighters by 0838. Two fire engines and a fire rescue unit from Harrow and Wembley fire stations attended the scene.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.16am today (19 December) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction between High Street and Long Elmes, Harrow Weald.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We treated two people at the scene before taking them to hospital.”
