Some Pinner and Northwood residents are without water after an interruption to the water supply in the HA5 and HA6 areas.
Affinity Water posted an update on their website last night (21 Dec) advising people that bottled water can be collected at Pinner Hill Golf Club – Southview Road, Pinner Hill HA5 3YA. They added, “We no longer have bottled water available at Eastbury Pumping Station – Hampermill Lane, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD19 4TF.”
This was updated this morning (Thursday 22 December) at 08:30 and another update is expected after 12pm.
Affinity Water posted via their website: “We’re very sorry you don’t have any water. We know that your water supply has been impacted over the past few days, and we’re so sorry about this.
“We’ve been working hard to replenish the water in your local reservoir.
“We’re adjusting our network to bring in water from other areas, but unfortunately, this means your supply will now be interrupted. We’ve arranged for bottled water during this time.”
Streets affected by the water interruption include –
BRACKEN HILL CLOSE
OXHEY RIDGE CLOSE
PARK VIEW ROAD
POTTER STREET HILL
POTTERS HEIGHTS CLOSE
SOUTH VIEW ROAD
Affinity Water added: “The quickest way to get water is to collect some from drive-through collection points in your area. We’ll give you enough water based on how many people live in your home. To keep you safe, these sites will be manned with water placed in the boot of your car. Our bottled water collection points are open until 10pm tonight.”
Update: At 4:30pm, Affinity Water updated the alert on their website stating: “All customers should now have their water supply restored. We adjusted our network to bring in more water from other areas, and we are building capacity back up in the network. During this time, some customers may experience lower pressure than normal at peak times, but it should improve by tomorrow.
“We are sorry for the recent disruption to your water supply and would like to thank you for your patience during this time.
“If you have water, you and your neighbours may have cloudy water, we’re really sorry about this. Please don’t worry, this isn’t harmful to you. (Cloudy water is just small air bubbles trapped in our pipework.) To find out more about cloudy water, please click here.”
