Four fire engines rush to town centre chicken shop fire in Harrow

A chicken shop in Harrow Town Centre caught fire today as firefighters from three local stations rushed to the scene.

A fire was reported at Pepe’s Piri Piri, located on Station Road, Harrow Town Centre, this morning shortly after 10:45am. Two people fled the building prior to the Brigade arriving at the scene.

London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a takeaway restaurant on Station Road in Harrow this morning.

“Part of the ground floor of the property, which has flats above, was damaged by fire. Two people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

“Road closures were in place whilst firefighters made the scene safe and people were encouraged to avoid the local area.

“The Brigade was called at 1046 and the fire was under control by 1205. Fire crews from Harrow, Northolt, and Stanmore fire stations attended the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
