Stanmore hairdressers closes down after decades of business in the community

A highly popular hairdressers in Stanmore has announced its permanent closure.

The Hair Lounge on Stanmore Broadway has served the the community since 2010 after being renamed from Martin Gold Hair.

The original Martin Gold salon opened in Stanmore way back in 1977, after which he was joined by junior in the business, Adam Harris in 1990. Adam went on to take over the store which has now announced its permanent closure.

Posting via their official Facebook page, The Hair Lounge said: “We regret to announce Hair Lounge is now closed for business.

“We would like to thank all our clients and I look forward to seeing you all at Mark G Hairdressing, Stanmore. Adam”

Residents in Stanmore have been paying tribute to the business that served the community for so long.

One customer said: “Sorry to hear that. Been a client there for 20 years! Wishing you all the best for the future.”

Another Facebook user said: “Sorry to hear this news, still think fondly of you all and great memories made back in the day, living above the salon the mischief we got up to. Good luck to you all. Sending love.”
