Harrow Council have announced plans to ‘help improve the quality and consistency of the Garden Waste collections’, with changes to the service coming in April this year.
From April, Harrow Council are moving to one annual subscription rather than separate summer and annual subscriptions. The Council say it will allow them to offer Harrow residents a ‘simpler and more reliable service and is in line with other local authorities.’
Changes to the annual subscription costs are £65 (previously £75) – just £2.60 per collection. Subscribers on Council Tax Support will be £32.50. Additional bins will be charged at £50, or £32.50 for those on Council Tax Support.
You can pay online at www.harrow.gov.uk/Gardenwaste – or via Direct Debit so that it renews in March. If you wish your service to start in April, residents will need to sign up by 3rd March. For those already on Direct Debit, subscriptions will renew in April.
Subscribers will receive a letter just before the start of the 2023 service with further info and a new sticker to put onto their brown bins. The Council stated that these will be sent out around the end of March.
