Local police have warned the Harrow community about a scam in which people have had money stolen from their bank accounts.
The incidents have happened at a few cash points around the borough, police have stated, but no information is currently available as to the exact locations in Harrow.
Posting via OWL, PCSO Claire Orr said: “We have had a few reports around the borough concerning scams around ATM machines where suspect(s) have gone up to their victims stating that they have seen a traffic warden writing down their car registration plate.
“The suspect has then stated to their victims to go to the ATM machine and put in their card to pay for a ticket or fine. Victims have had money stolen from their accounts or found out that their cards are missing.
“Please don’t be fooled by this scam, if a traffic warden was present they would place a valid fine on your vehicle.”
