Photos show Canons Park cordoned off after two people shot

Canons Park was entirely cordoned off this morning by police following an incident in which two people have been shot.

There was a large police presence at Canons Park today with all entrances of the park closed off by Met Police following the shootings.

Entrances at Canons Drive, Donnefield Avenue, Howberry Road and Whitchurch Lane were closed off whilst police conducted investigations around the area.

One member of the Harrow Online Group said: “Police have shut down Canons Park. Looks like a big crime scene. Do you know what’s happened?

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.16am today (20 February) to reports of a shooting in Whitchurch Lane, Edgware.

“We sent three ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We treated two patients at the scene and took them both to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called by LAS at 06:228hrs on Monday, 20 February to Whitchurch Lane, Edgware, following reports of two people injured.

“Armed police were among those responding.

“Two men were found with suspected gunshot injuries. Both have been taken to hospital, where their conditions have been assessed as not life-threatening.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. Early indications suggest the men may have victims of a robbery.

“There have been no arrests at this time. Police are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry.”
