Homes and businesses across Harrow woke without electricity this morning.
There was a power cut affecting multiple postcodes in the Harrow area including –
AL2 1, CB2 4, CM7 5, HA0 3, HA1 2, HA1, HA3 0, HA3 7, HA3 8, HP1 3, LU1 5, MK41 7, SG16 6, SG9 9.
In total, 627 homes in Harrow have been affected with the UK Power Networks working hard to fix the issue.
A note on the UK Power Networks website said: “Reason for this unplanned power cut
– A fault has occurred on an underground electricity cable affecting the local area, we may have to dig up the road to carry out repairs.
“The information on our website is live and up-to-date. This is the same information that our call advisors give customers over the phone. Please only call us if you’re in a dangerous situation or notice any damage to our equipment.”
In an update issued shortly before 8am, the UK Power Network said that for all supplies to be restored, the estimated timeframe is between 1:30pm – 2:30pm, although the power will come back on in stages.
In a statement issued to Harrow Online, a spokesperson for UK Power Networks said: “Engineers are working quickly and safely to restore power to 627 homes in the Harrow area following a fault on the underground electricity network.
“Customers in the area experienced short interruptions from 1.30am and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
The power was fully restored with power regained by those affected.
