College Road Harrow: Man dies in town centre

A man aged in his 50s sadly died in Harrow Town Centre this morning (9 March).

The incident happened shortly after 9am on College Road which was blocked eastbound at the time.

The incident was reported near St Ann’s Shopping Centre and opposite Harrow on the Hill train station. A large number of emergency service vehicles were spotted at the scene and there is a cordon in place outside some of the shops on College Road.

The following bus routes were affected by the incident: 114, 140, 182, 183, 186, 223, 258, 340. 483, H9, H14, H17, H19. The road was reopened shortly before 11:00am.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 09:06hrs on Thursday, 9 March to reports of a man collapsed on the street at College Road, Harrow.

“Officers attended. At the scene a man, aged 50s, had collapsed. He was treated by London Ambulance Service but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are underway to notify next of kin.

“The death was unexpected but is not thought to be suspicious.

“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
