Harrow Council Leader provides information on cost-of-living support for residents in need

Harrow Council Leader, Cllr Paul Osborn posted a message to residents via the council’s newsletter this week.

Speaking about the news of a further Government scheme to help with energy costs, Cllr Paul Osborn said: “As temperatures again dip, I’m pleased to bring you news of a further Government scheme to help with energy costs. Most households in Harrow will have already received £400 to help with the cost of heating their homes through the winter.”

Osborn added, “If you didn’t automatically qualify for help with your bills, see further information and details of how to apply at GOV.UK. Further information about the range of cost of living support available from the council and other local organizations can be found on our website.”

Regarding the recent region’s celebrations across the borough, Osborn extended well wishes and said, “The festival of Holi traditionally marks the end of winter and though there’s still a nip in the air, I know many Harrow families were out and about this week to mark this significant and very colourful Hindu festival.

“If you were celebrating this week, I wish you a very happy Holi. And to our Jewish residents who this week observed Purim, I would also like to extend warm wishes. Purim is also a joyous and colourful family celebration with ancient roots,” he added.

Regarding International Women’s Day, Osborn stated, “The year’s campaign, #EmbraceEquity, highlighted the importance of us all challenging gender stereotypes, calling out discrimination and seeking out inclusion.”
