In the early hours of this morning, Station Road in Edgware was blocked in both directions at the junction of High Street following a road traffic collision.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at approximately 4:13am to attend to the incident and the road was blocked off for nearly four hours, reopening at 8:03am.
The accident has caused significant disruption in Edgware, with several bus routes affected including the 32, 79, 142, 186, 204, 251, 288, 292, 303, 340, N5, and N16.
Commuters were advised to seek alternative modes of transport or make alternative travel arrangements until the road was cleared.
Eye-witnesses at the scene reported seeing several emergency service vehicles including ambulances and police cars.
A spokesperson for Met Police confirmed that a car in was involved in a collision with a building.
“We arrested a man on suspicion of driving offences,” they added.
