The Everest Abercorn, which is in the middle of Stanmore Hill, is a unique place to eat with an elegant atmosphere and delicious food. The building itself is familiar to Harrow residents young and old, it used to be a very popular pub many years ago.
Now, whether you’re in the mood for a romantic dinner for two or a group celebration with friends, this restaurant promises to deliver an ‘unforgettable experience’. We wanted to check it out for ourselves and try its wide range of menu options.
Luckily, Everest Abercorn offers something for everyone. In this review, we’ll dive into the atmosphere, service, food, and overall impression of the popular restaurant in Stanmore Hill to help you decide whether it’s worth a visit for yourselves.
Walking into the Everest Abercorn, the first thing you’ll notice is the elegant ambience – it’s comparable to some of the restaurants you’d likely find in the West End, indeed we were sold on the overall look as soon as we walked in. The décor is stylish and sophisticated, the lighting was dim and warm, creating a cosy and intimate atmosphere for diners.
The noise level was generally low, not many people when we visited which meant for swift service and a feeling of having the place to yourself.
The seating is comfortable, with plush chairs and ample space between tables for privacy. Whether you’re there for a romantic evening or a group celebration, Everest Abercorn’s ambience sets the tone for a memorable dining experience for locals in Stanmore, and beyond.
The service at the Everest Abercorn was impeccable. We were greeted warmly by the staff and shown to our table, the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations based on their own personal favourites and what they thought we would like when told our preferences, they were truly attentive to detail without being intrusive. They regularly checked on us to make sure everything was in order and asked us if we wanted further drinks.
The Everest Abercorn offers a wide range of menu options that cater to various dietary restrictions and preferences with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. We started with some of the Manchurian chicken which was served steaming hot and bursting with flavour.
For our main courses, we opted for the chicken tikka masala and the biryani. The chicken tikka was creamy and rich, with just the right amount of spice, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The biryani was fragrant and flavorful, with a generous portion size – to satisfy even the most hungry, which we were. We also tried a delightful mixed grill which we would highly recommend.
The food at the Everest Abercorn was delicious and well-executed, and we appreciated the variety of options available on the menu, and the service provided.
