Sandea Wholesale, a wholesaler business based in Harrow founded in 2019, has recently won two prestigious awards.
The business, which is located in Rosslyn Crescent in Wealdstone, won ‘Wholesaler of the Year’ at the Pakistan Achievement Awards International and recently won another award – ‘Wholesale/Distributor of the Year 2022’ at the Asian Food and Restaurant Awards International.
Sanjeet Manek, an alumnus of Royal Holloway, University of London, and founder of SANDEA who offer 5,000+ stock-keeping units of market-leading European brands of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Over-the-Counter medicines (OTCs), Cosmetics and Toiletries, said he was ‘delighted’ with the honours.
During the pandemic, when most businesses were struggling, Manek saw an opportunity and started trading. He said: “Our business officially started trading during the midst of the pandemic.”
“Logistically, the whole world has experienced a turbulent market full of uncertainty and change. In the UK we have witnessed a choked supply chain. The logistical chain had slowed down.”
“It was a rude awakening. However, it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of a developing market. The pandemic placed us in a competitive position, proving our resilience,” he added.
Post-pandemic, the business has been on an upward trajectory for Sandea. “Consumption patterns are gradually increasing post-pandemic, and we are witnessing larger opportunities,” said Manek.
Sandea connects the right brands to the right retailers and consumers, with long-established trading partnerships and an intricate understanding of the industry. Manek also actively contributes to society by supporting the Uhuru Mchanganyiko Primary school and Tumaini La Maisha in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The company also aims to continue supporting charitable causes in Tanzania and beyond.
When asked about the future of Sandea, Manek mentioned that the company is continually striving for innovation and diversification, including integrating digital transformation into its business model to stay ahead of the competition. Sandea is also looking to bring in additional home-grown and global brands to their portfolio while remaining passionate about their work.
Sandea has recently joined Sugro UK (a Wholesale Buying Group) enabling them to offer a diverse product portfolio which includes confectionery, soft drinks, crisps & snacks, grocery, household, catering, food service, chilled and frozen goods.
