A fostering agency in Harrow has received an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, the fourth consecutive time the agency has achieved the highest grade possible since 2011.
Nexus Fostering, in Harrow, supports vulnerable children and young people in foster care, was praised for offering an exceptional service and for providing safe, stable homes with nurturing and positive relationships.
An Ofsted inspector who conducted the recent inspection stated that the agency’s work was outstanding and commended Nexus Fostering’s matching processes and stable foster placements.
The inspector also highlighted the fantastic work of the Head of Participation, who has increased children’s self-esteem and self-confidence, and the Head of Education, who ensures children can access appropriate educational provision that meets their learning needs.
The inspection report mentioned how the agency’s local staff, foster carers, foster children, and independent members of the carer approval and review panel were interviewed, and every aspect of Nexus’ work was assessed. A child in the care of a Nexus foster family said, “I love it here. They go above and beyond to help me. I hope to stay here until I’m 18.”
A foster carer also praised Nexus Fostering, saying, “It’s the best possible experience for me and the children. We’re totally included.” Kelly Randall, the Director of Nexus Fostering, expressed pride and gratitude for the hard work and unwavering commitment of the agency’s foster carers and staff in providing positive experiences and improving outcomes for all young people in Harrow.
