South Harrow nursery receives ‘Good’ Ofsted rating

Rooks Heath Nursery, located in South Harrow, has received a ‘Good’ rating in its recent Ofsted report.

The Ofsted report highlights that the provision is good and that children enjoy their time at the nursery. The staff are kind and respectful, and children feel safe and secure, which is demonstrated by their willingness to participate in activities and show positive attitudes towards their learning. The report also states that leaders and staff have high expectations for all children and teach them to be independent and confident.

The nursery is commended for promoting children’s language and communication skills effectively, and staff ensure that children have opportunities to hear and speak their home languages in the setting. Children are also given opportunities to learn about living a healthy lifestyle, and staff incorporate physical activities throughout the day.

The report also notes that staff speak highly of the support they receive from leaders and that there are effective partnerships with parents to support children’s care and learning needs. Safeguarding arrangements are also reported to be effective, with leaders and staff having a good understanding of their safeguarding roles.

The report suggests that the setting could further improve the quality of its early year’s provision by helping staff to review and improve the organization of group activities, to ensure that they consistently support all children’s learning and enjoyment. Overall, the report is positive and commends the staff and leaders for providing a good quality of education, behaviour, attitudes, personal development, leadership, and management.
