Harrow police have apprehended three occupants of a stolen car after a chase involving a specialist unit.
The incident occurred on Lansdowne Road, just opposite Harrow on the Hill station’s back entrance this morning at around 10am.
In an update posted via OWL by Constable Toby Wilson, “If you live on Lansdowne road and saw lots of Police outside today (5 April) at about 1000am, it was because a specialist unit chased a stolen car and arrested 3 occupants,” he said.
The police have been actively working to combat priority crimes such as burglary and motor vehicle theft in the Harrow area, with good results lately.
“We have not had any reported Burglaries since mid-march… We have not had a catalytic converter reported stolen for at least 2-3 months,” Wilson said.
However, Wilson also noted that there have been a couple of thefts from motor vehicles in recent weeks, urging residents to be vigilant and ensure that their cars are locked at all times.
He added, “These sorts of quick-crime opportunists are difficult to catch as we do not work at night and people leave their cars unlocked.”
Wilson also provided an update on the police’s efforts to address anti-social behaviour in the area, including issuing a Community Protection Notice to an individual who has been causing issues on Drummond Drive, Harrow Weald.
He thanked the community for their support, including those who attended recent street briefings and “Cuppa with a Coppa” events, and wished everyone a peaceful Easter break.
