Harrow residents can look forward to playing on newly repaired and renovated tennis courts across 13 parks soon!
Work has been underway for the past six weeks, with contractors cleaning, resurfacing, and installing new gates on all 36 courts.
The next stage of the refurbishment will involve spray painting the courts green and the surrounding areas blue before white lining is applied. However, the court surfaces need to cure before this process can begin, which means nobody can use the courts for a period of time.
Six tennis court sites have already received new surfaces and are currently curing. Access gates to these courts will be locked from today (Friday 14 April) until early May to allow for the curing process to complete.
The affected courts are located at Byron Rec, Centenary Park, Headstone Manor Rec, Montesole Playing Fields, Queensbury Rec, and Roxeth Rec.
Notices explaining the ongoing refurbishment and providing a QR code for more information will be posted at the six tennis court sites. The notices will also include the email address for the Sports and Leisure Team, and Park User Groups will be informed of the refurbishment progress.
Details on the booking system and the new operator, Premier Tennis, who will manage the courts on behalf of Harrow Council, will be shared soon.
The painting and lining of the courts are expected to be completed by early May, depending on weather conditions. Harrow residents can soon look forward to enjoying newly refurbished tennis courts across their local parks.
