Hatch End thefts: Increase in car break-ins reported

Police in Hatch End have issued a warning to residents after a recent spate of thefts from vehicles in Grimsdyke Car Park.

Thieves have reportedly been smashing car windows to gain access to valuable items left inside.

Grimsdyke Car Park is located just next to the parade of shops in Uxbridge Road, the car park is accessible from Grimsdyke Road opposite Pickwick Walk.

MPS Hatch End tweeted out a warning to locals, stating: “WARNING! Recently we have seen an increase in vehicle crime in #Grimsdyke Car Park #HatchEnd.

“Thieves are smashing windows to gain access to valuables left in vehicles. DO NOT leave valuables in cars as this entices thieves. #KeepYourVehicleSafe #VehicleCrime”.

Residents in Hatch End have been urged to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of their vehicles and belongings.

This includes removing any valuables from the car and ensuring that windows and doors are locked when leaving the vehicle unattended.
