Harrow Weald residents were alarmed on Tuesday afternoon after images of a garden fire in Augustine Road circulated online. The smoke was visible from Hatch End and surrounding areas.
Firefighters from Harrow and Stanmore fire stations were called to the scene at 6:42 pm and brought the fire under control by 7:09 pm. A fence and household waste were damaged in the fire, but there were no injuries reported.
A member of the Harrow Online Group said: “I can see lots of smoke coming from the Hatch End area, it looks bad but I can’t see exactly where it’s coming from, I can smell the fire and lots of people are wondering whats going on.”

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade told Harrow Online, “Firefighters tackled a fire in a garden on Augustine Road in Headstone yesterday (April 25). A fence and household waste was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries. Two fire engines from Harrow and Stanmore fire stations attended the scene.”
The cause of the fire in Harrow Weald is not known. Residents are reminded to take necessary precautions to prevent fires, especially during dry weather conditions.
