The Village Inn, a popular pub located in Rayners Lane, has been awarded the highest rating for its levels of hygiene by Harrow Council’s Scores on the Doors programme.
The pub was given a five-star rating by inspectors who judged the outlet based on how hygienic and well-managed its food preparation was.
Scores on the Doors programme is a scheme designed to highlight hygiene standards in various establishments across the borough, including pubs, restaurants, takeaways and clubs. The inspections are based on a set of criteria which includes hygiene, structure and confidence in management, and each business is benchmarked against the same criteria.
The pub’s manager, Eric Farrell, said: “We are delighted that we have gained the top rating and I’m sure our customers will welcome the news too.
“Standards of hygiene at the pub are of paramount importance. “All of the staff work hard to ensure that the pub offers its customers the highest levels of hygiene at all time and we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with the five-star rating.”
The news of the five-star rating has been welcomed by customers, who can now enjoy their drinks and meals with peace of mind knowing that the pub has been recognised for its high standards of hygiene.
