Police recover knife during weapon sweep in Wealdstone

Police in Wealdstone have recovered a knife during a weapons sweep conducted by a new Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).

The police, Wealdstone MPS, tweeted about the discovery, stating that the knife was found on Montrose Road and has since been disposed of. The road is situated just off Locket Road and within close proximity to Wealdstone High Street.

The MPS Wealdstone Twitter account shared the news, saying: “Today our new PCSO has been out conducting weapon sweeps around #Wealdstone looking for anything that has been hidden. A knife was located on Montrose Road and has been disposed of accordingly #MyLocalMet.”

Weapon sweeps are part of the police’s efforts to tackle knife crime and involve officers searching public areas for hidden weapons. The aim is to prevent violence and to provide reassurance to the local community.
