Harrow Weald Recreation Ground, also known as Boxtree Park, has a brand new public footpath which has just been completed.
The path stretches all the way around the football field next to the Maricas Avenue and Weighton Road entrances of the park.
This is great news for park visitors, who can now enjoy a complete walk around the second field, something that was previously impossible. The new path was funded through a Green Grid grant in partnership with Harrow Council, and is seen as another great asset to the park.
A representative from the Friends of Harrow Weald Park spoke about the new footpath earlier this year, saying that it would support wellbeing for both humans and bugs. They also mentioned that the path would be used for a range of exciting wellbeing projects over the coming months.
Harrow Online have taken some images of the new footpath, which show just how beautiful it looks.
With the completion of the path, visitors to the park can now walk from any point in the park to the ParkLife Café for a cup of tea, finest Italian coffee, or hot chocolate, all made with love.
The new footpath is set to make Boxtree Park even more popular with visitors, especially with the newly refurbished tennis courts coming soon as well – it’s clear that it will be a valuable addition to the park for years to come.
