Harrow Road remains closed after ‘large burst water main’

Harrow Road in Wembley remains closed off as repair work continues on a burst water main.

Affinity Water, the water company responsible for the repairs, tweeted on Sunday, 14 May, that the road would remain closed until the repairs were completed for the safety of their team and road users.

The company also apologised for any traffic delays the closure might cause.

The issue with the burst water main has been ongoing since yesterday morning, with the 92 bus on diversion due to the road closure. The closure has caused inconvenience to local residents, and motorists are being advised to seek alternative routes.

Affinity Water has provided regular updates on their website and Twitter regarding the repair work on Harrow Road.

As of Monday morning, 15 May, A spokesperson for Affinity Water updated Harrow Online with the following: “Our team has remained on Harrow Road at the junction of Priory Avenue, in Wembley (HA0 2SB) awaiting the arrival of UK Power Network. Following their assessment, UK Power Network need to source additional fittings to complete their repairs before we can commence our work.

During this time, all customers in the area will have a water supply however it may be at a lower pressure until the repairs are completed.
