Photos show police cordons in Burnt Oak following suspected shooting

A teenager has been rushed to hospital this afternoon after a suspected shooting near Burnt Oak station.

Police rushed to the scene at around 3:20pm this afternoon after members of the public reported shots fired. Watling Avenue remains closed between Orange Hill Rd and Barnfield Rd. Buses affected include the 114, 204, 251, and 302.

A bike can be seen in one of the images, it is not known if this belonged to anyone involved in the incident.

One person posted via the Harrow Online Group – “This wasn’t happening many years ago, what’s going on in London?”.

Burnt Oak Station remains closed this evening.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.20pm today (23 May) to reports of a shooting on Watling Avenue at the junction with Orange Hill, Burnt Oak.

“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated one patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

The condition of the victim is not known at this stage. Harrow Online have reached out to Met Police for an update on the victims condition.
