Harrow Online has learned that Lobsters Fish Bar, a cherished local chippie, has closed down after serving the community for nearly 30 years.
Located on Shaftesbury Circle, just opposite McDonald’s, the iconic fish bar has been a go-to spot for Harrow residents since its establishment way back in 1994.
Renowned for its delectable assortment of fresh fish and chips, Lobsters Fish Bar became a beloved fixture in the community in South Harrow, however, as the final day of operation arrived, loyal customers bid their farewells, reflecting on the countless meals and takeaways had from the shop over the last three decades.
Harrow Online has learned exclusively that plans are already underway for a new eatery to occupy the vacant premises. A highly-anticipated pizza takeaway is set to take the reins, although it’s unclear when this will open.
The news of Lobsters Fish Bar’s closure has left a void in the hearts and stomachs of locals, many of whom have shared their fondest memories and expressed their deep sadness at its closure. Over the years, Lobster’s commitment to serving quality seafood and providing a welcoming atmosphere has left a mark on the community.
Sabina Singh, a long-time resident and regular customer of Lobsters, reminisced, “It’s truly heartbreaking to see such an iconic place close down. I remember bringing my children here when they were little, and now they’re all grown up. The fish and chips were always exceptional, and the staff made us feel like family.”
