Harrow View and Headstone Gardens to undergo six weeks of gas pipe replacement

Harrow View and Headstone Gardens, two major roads in Harrow, are bracing themselves for a six-week period of roadworks, starting from 12 June.

The extensive project is being carried out by Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, to replace over 100 meters of gas pipes in the area.

Commencing on 12 June, the roadworks are expected to last for a duration of six weeks. To ensure the safety of their engineers and maintain the flow of traffic, temporary traffic lights will be installed at strategic points along the affected roads.

A spokesperson for Cadent highlighted that coordinating efforts in this manner would effectively prevent future disruptions due to gas-related works at the junction.

The works will cover a stretch of Harrow View starting from next month.

A Cadent spokesperson told Harrow Online: “We have been working with Harrow Council, to coordinate work that is planned at the junction of Harrow View and Headstone Gardens. We will be starting our work first to replace over 100 meters of gas pipes at the junction before the council continues with their improvement works at the junction.

“Our work starts on 12 June, for six weeks, with temporary traffic lights in place to ensure the safety of our engineers and continued flow of traffic.

“By coordinating work like this, it prevents future gas work happening at the junction.”
