Football kit design competition launched in Harrow

London-based self-storage company, Attic Self Storage, is inviting the young footballers of Harrow to participate in a unique football kit design competition.

The competition, launched on Monday, offers children and football teams in the area a chance to showcase their creativity and design skills, with the possibility of having their winning designs produced as the official kit for their respective teams.

Football is immensely popular among children in the UK, with 1.8 million youngsters participating in teams across the country. Attic Self Storage’s campaign aims to encourage young Harrow residents to take up or continue playing the sport by highlighting the fusion of sport and creativity.

The judging panel, which includes Lawrence Vigouroux, goalkeeper for Leyton Orient FC, Jaz Virgo, Junior Graphic and Print Designer at Gymshark, Ash Rahman, CEO of Pro Touch Soccer Academy, and Sophie Bagnall, Attic’s Marketing Director, will evaluate the designs and select three winners that best reflect the spirit of the entrants’ teams or clubs.

Lawrence Vigouroux, the professional footballer, emphasized the significance of team kits, stating, “Team kits have always been iconic for fans and players alike. We all grew up with a football top with our idol’s name on the back. Not only will giving young footballers their own team kit make them feel like superstars, but I hope the kits will also foster a sense of togetherness and team spirit that is invaluable in a sport like football.”

Ash Rahman, CEO of Pro Touch SA, a community soccer program dedicated to supporting young aspiring footballers, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “I am thrilled to be involved in this project, as it aligns so closely with Pro Touch’s mission and my own drive to support young aspiring footballers to find their feet within the sport. I have seen firsthand the difference a team kit can make to morale and aspiration and can’t wait to see the designs when they come in.”

Children aged 6-15 years old from Harrow and across London can participate in the competition by visiting the Attic website to download the kit template and unleash their creativity. Once satisfied with their designs, participants can upload them via the entry button on the same webpage. The only requirement is that the design reflects the team or club in question, allowing participants to freely experiment with colour combinations and design elements.

In addition to the opportunity to design their team’s kit, one lucky child will have the chance to win a personalized kit for themselves by sharing their design on Facebook using the hashtag #AtticStrikeingKit.

Attic Self Storage in Harrow, a state-of-the-art facility that offers self-storage solutions and work pod facilities, is excited to support the local community through this initiative.

Sophie Bagnall, Marketing Director at Attic, stated, “At Attic, we put the community at the heart of our business. We want to continue to give back to Harrow residents and support the city we operate in. This is another great initiative that will offer emerging young footballers the opportunity to come together as a team and build confidence within their borough.”
