Sainsbury’s in Edgware’s Broadwalk Shopping Centre gets top food hygiene rating

Sainsbury’s, one of the prominent retailers in the Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Edgware, has been awarded a stellar Food Hygiene Rating of 5 (Very Good) by Barnet Council.

The rating, which covers various aspects of food hygiene and safety, along with structural compliance and management confidence, serves as a testament to the supermarket’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards.

During the inspection conducted on May 23, 2023, Sainsbury’s demonstrated exceptional performance across all categories evaluated.


The Food Hygiene and Safety measures were rated as “Very Good” along with the supermarkets impressive rating of “Very Good” for Structural Compliance.

This accolade acknowledges the supermarket’s adherence to stringent regulations concerning the physical layout, cleanliness, and maintenance of its premises.

The rating also commended Sainsbury’s for its ‘Confidence in Management’. This aspect takes into account the competence and effectiveness of the store’s management team in overseeing and implementing food safety protocols.
