Wembley Park is once again filled with the sounds of music as the highly anticipated Wembley Park Live program returns for its fifth year.
As part of the Summer of Play free program of arts and entertainment, live performances will take place every Thursday to Sunday from May to September (excluding National Stadium event days) in various locations throughout the area.
Wembley Park Live offers a diverse range of musical genres, promising an exciting lineup of popular acts and up-and-coming talents. Audiences can expect performances from renowned artists such as Lucy May Walker, John Clapper, Freddie Joon, Modupe, Alex West, and many others. The music will span various genres, including classical, country, folk, pop, and everything in between.
This joint venture between Wembley Park and Busk in London aims to bring the joy of live music to everyone who visits, lives, and works in the local area. The best part is that all performances are free to attend, and no tickets are required.
The striking Sound Shell stage, which was introduced to the neighbourhood in 2022, will host many of the performances. Located in the community-designed Samovar Space at the top of Olympic Way, with the iconic Wembley Stadium as its backdrop, the Sound Shell has become a popular venue for both performers and audiences. Additionally, BOXPARK Wembley, the largest BOXPARK in London, will also host several Wembley Park Live performances in its outdoor dining area.
Wembley Park Live is part of the Summer of Play program, which offers a neighbourhood-wide selection of free events. In addition, to live music, Summer of Play will feature dance performances and classes, arts and crafts, urban sports, circus skills, and a range of other unforgettable experiences catering to visitors and residents of all ages, abilities, and interests.
“Wembley Park is synonymous with world-class live music, with musicians flocking to perform here from around the globe,” said Josh McNorton, Cultural Director of Wembley Park.
“We are thrilled that Wembley Park Live is now in its fifth year, with a talented and diverse selection of musicians eager to take to the stage to entertain music-loving residents and visitors in the neighbourhood this summer.”
Wembley Park has gained a well-deserved reputation for hosting a variety of community-centric events. The neighbourhood is home to the Wembley Park Art Trail, showcasing captivating permanent urban art pieces by renowned artists such as Mr Doodle, Lois O’Hara, and Pref.
In addition, thought-provoking seasonal exhibitions addressing global and societal issues have garnered attention. From a street party celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III to a Valentine’s Day candlelit concert featuring performers from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Wembley Park has consistently provided a platform for diverse community events.
“Summer of Play at Wembley Park presents a unique array of formats and mediums, uniting residents, visitors, and performers in extraordinary ways,” commented Josh McNorton.
“With this diverse program of free, family-friendly events, we aim to embrace the spirit of summer and provide unforgettable experiences for all.”
